Ottawa wrestling fans get ready! C*4 kicks off 2013 with with “Rise Above”, on January 19th!

New Year – new challengers… Main event and more!

In a little over a month from now, C*4 rings in 2013 with a sure to be exciting card, when we present “Rise Above” on January 19th!

At this time, we can announce three huge matches, featuring many of C*4’s very best.

On Nov. 24th, fans saw C*4 Champion, “Ronin” Josh Alexander defeat former champion, Stu Grayson.  Both men gave it everything they had in themselves as they battled for the prestigious Championship, however in the end, Alexander pinned Grayson.

Following the win, Alexander once again told C*4 management that he wanted to face any challengers on the C*4 roster.  Citing his own climb to the top of the C*4 roster, from the bottom of the card to the main event – the “Ronin“ has made it clear he is up for anything on January 19th.

Also on Nov. 24th, former C*4 Tag Team Champions, Lionel Knight and Christopher Bishop , Checkmate, scored a major victory against current ROH World Champion, “Mr. Wrestling“ Kevin Steen, and Player Uno.   A shock to the many in attendance, the win was viewed as a major upset by most.  However, when looking at their tandem wins over the course of the previous year, the victory should have come as no surprise.

With the win, Checkmate obviously positioned themselves as top contenders to their former championship heading into January 19th.  However, Knight and Bishop approached C*4 management with an unusual request – and one we have granted.

Instead of taking their championship opportunity against the current C*4 tag team Champions, Checkmate members, Christopher Bishop AND Lionel Knight have both individually requested to challenge Josh Alexander for the C*4 Championship.

Bishop and Knight are no strangers to singles gold, or competition.  Over the last decade, both claimed major singles titles as Bishop is a former IWS Canadian Champion, while Lionel Knight is a former UWA Hardcore Triple Crown Champion.   Additionally, both men are also as familiar with facing off against each other, as they are with teaming.

This match will once again be competed under “One-Fall to a finish“ rules – and no doubt about it, it will be every man for himself.   Any allegiances will be thrown out the window, as the ultimate prize in C*4 is on the line.

On January 19th, two men, looking to break out of the tag team roles fans know them in, will both compete in the most important match of their careers.

On January 19th, one man, who is looking to cement his status as the top talent in C*4, once again competes against the odds.

On January 19th, three men will compete in the first main event of 2013, and will likely be remembered at the end of the year as one of the best matches in C*4 history.

Our semi-main event on Jan. 19th will see one of C*4’s most favourite stars compete against a man who has quickly become one of the most despised… “Speedball” Mike Bailey will once again try to gain a measure of revenge against “Hacker” Scotty O’Shea.

A feud which has been building since June, and has only intensified since.   The latest chapter of which took place on Nov. 24th, when O’Shea stole another victory against Bailey, and secured a future C*4 Championship shot, by way of a vicious keyboard shot to Speedball’s face.

Based on this match, C*4 has granted Bailey a chance to gain revenge against O’Shea, and an opportunity to win back that championship shot that he lost on Nov. 24th.

Don’t miss this explosive match!
