Fighting Back: Wrestling With Cancer
Official Results
August 12th, 2011
Tudor Hall
Ottawa, Ontario

Attendance: 400+
Announcer: The Voice, with a guest appearance by Tony
Commentary: Mike Rotch, Llakor, Pat Laprade, Adam B, Tiwiggy and others

The show started with an announcement by The Voice, bringing up Phrank Morin, and the reason behind the show.  He reminded the crowd that this show wasn’t about mourning, but about celebration and fun in the memory of Phrank’s life.

1 )      “Fighting Back: Wrestling With Cancer” battle royal:  In a shocking win, “The Afterparty” Cecil Nyx outlasted twelve other competitors to win.  Other participants included The Incredible Hunks, Trey Hugh Mongous, Alijah Bowers, Roy Stevens, Zack Storm, The Rush, Crimson X, Dericc Hamilton, Tyler Logan, Urban Miles anLucky Sabitid .

2 )      2.O (Shane Matthews and “Jagged” Scott Parker) overcame the returning Pornstar Juan and Twiggy.  Juan made his first appearance in several years, and was greeted with great fanfare.  However, in the end, the experience of 2.O overcame the passion of the returning R’n’C Express.

3 )      “Charming” Chaz Lovely, “Prince of Persia” Rahim Ali, and the returning “Superstar” Shayne Hawke defeated Jae Rukin, Johnny Wave and Alex Vega, in an exciting trios match.  Hawke scored the win for his team, which marked a successful return to the Ottawa region.

4 )      In one of the most anticipated matches of the night, “The World Warrior” Low-Ki narrowly scored a win over “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin.  The fans were as split as the offence from both men, as both proved to be favourite.  Elgin appeared to have Ki beaten several times, but the world-traveled veteran proved to be too much.  The end saw Low-Ki deliver a monstrous double-stomp on to Elgin’s chest, from the top rope, followed by the pin.   A tremendous must-see match.

5 )      The ISW 2011 Burger King of the Ring, El Hijo Del Bamboo won a four corners match, also involving Beef Wellington, Bastian Snow, and Izzie Deadyet.  This InterSpecies Wrestling sanctioned contest saw all four specimens give their all.  In the end Bamboo landed top tope leaping sit-out splash onto Beef’s chest, and scored the win.

6 )      In an nCw: Femmes Fatals three-way, Cheerleader Melissa defeated both Portia Perez and Addy Starr.  Melissa’s experience proved to be just too much for both Portia and Addy.

7 )      In an impromptu Three-Way Dance for the C*4 Championship, “Player Dos” Stupefied retained his title against Player Uno and “Speedball” Mike Bailey.  Another contest which  many fans felt was match of the night.  All three young men stunned the crowd with high-impact and high-flying action.  In the end it was Stupefied who scored the pin on Bailey, following a big frog splash.  At several points until the very end, it seemed like both Uno and Bailey had the match and championship won.  Stupefied continues to reign with the C*4 Championship, and with the win crosses the 14 month mark as Champion.

8 )      In the Main Event, “The Innovator of Violence” Tommy Dreamer defeated “MVP” Michael Von Payton.  The wild “No DQ, No Count-Out, Falls Count Anywhere” Match (as Dreamer informed the fans prior to the match ‘President Jack Tunny’ had set the stipulations) saw both men brawl around the ringside area, using everything that wasn’t nailed down to the floor.    Despite putting up a strong fight, Von Payton fell to the hardcore legend.  Dreamer celebrated the win with the fans – and capped off the event on a high note.

All the organizers of this event thank the talent and fans for making this event possible.

It is with great excitement that we announce Fighting Back 2011 managed to raise over $10 000!  All funds raised will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society in the memory of Phrank Morin.

See you again next summer!

I did have to step out at times and unfortunately missed quite a bit of what I wanted to see and really feel bad for missing but I did get to see Michael Elgin vs. Low Ki and it is funny as I read the results the crowd was split with these two warriors, some were chanting "Elgin!" and others chanted "Low Ki!" but where I was sitting I was center of the ring chanting "ELGIN! LOW KI! ELGIN! LOW KI!". This was a superb match and I'm sure for the stuff I missed it was fantastic as well.

10 000$ raised congratulations! Thanks everyone. AMAZING SHOW! for A GREAT CAUSE!

I brought four friends to this show and for one, it was her first wrestling event ever.  She was really impressed with the athletesicm of all and seemed to love El Hijo Del Bamboo and the women's match the most.  Top to bottom, awesome show, great venue and terrific crowd.  Kudos to whoever made the Stinky video at the beginning of the show as well!  Awesome evening!

I brought my mom to the show and she has been bragging to everyone about how awesome the show was. After her first ISW match exposure, she went through a mix of emotions and thought it was brilliant.

I cannot wait for this next year.
