How about results from the last show?

Believe it or not there are people from outside the area who want to know what happened. I've had a few people asking about it. OWIE even got an email from a guy in Japan asking for results. (To be fair, he asks about every event advertised on OWIE that we don't post results for within 24 hrs of the show date.)

Cheeky & Deeno = comedy wrestling at its finest. At a C4 show, Cheeky came over to us, told the crowd he had to "carb" up and ate some of my wife's poutine. At this weekend's CSE show, Cheekycame over to the wife, asked for some water then said to the both of us..."I have a whole lot of AIDS".

Hilarious....unless we somehow got AIDS from Cheeky..then its less hilarious. :)

They are both incredible entertainers!

CSE hadn't created a Facebook event inviting ppl on Facebook to attend before. It could incerase attendence.

Rush to Judgement (Rush vs MVP) - kin of an ego boost for Rush but it highlights the main event.

There is a TV show called Friday Night Lights, so how about "Friday Night Fights"....

There's other things CSE could do to increase awareness of their promotion. Like taking advantage of the free publicity offered by local wrestling media sites.

But... they don't even seem inclined to share much with the locals who read this board. Results from the past show being a good example. I asked for them earlier in this thread. "Pat" has been here since. He either didn't read previous posts or he did and just doesn't care enough to share those results.

If he had, I would have posted them on OWIE which not only would have ensured the efforts of the CSE roster would have been entered into the historical record that is the OWIE Results Archives it would have also put the CSE promotion in front of literally thousands of fans both local to Ontario and world wide.

But hey, if they think posting results on their Facebook group (which, last time I checked had just about 140 members - many of them workers, not fans) then who am I to disagree with their methods of promoting their fed, shows etc.

I've sent messages and emails to CSE indicating my willingness to help spread the word about their product and have never received a response. Just like I've never had any of my requests for info addressed in this public forum.

So I can only assume that CSE management doesn't care to share info about their promotion beyond the avenues that they currently use. No skin off my nose. I guess maybe I won't care to promote their next show on OWIE since it will undoubtedly lead to more disappointment for OWIE readers hoping to hear results of it.

Nothing against CSE, the guys who run it or the guys who work there. Good luck in what you do. IF you ever decide you want to take advantage of the free publicity OWIE offers, get in touch. If not, that's fine too.

Hey Gordo, thanks for your comments. If you look at the event thread of the results you are looking for, it's there. I posted them last night. I, as you said, also posted them on the facebook page.

Moonbase, thanks for the excitement but just a correction, we did indeed have a facebook event for the last event, just this time it was made through the facebook fan page.

As for any other issues, needs or wants, we are totally open to everyone. The owner, Pat, is a pretty busy guy. If you can't get a hold of him, feel free to contact me and I will relay the word as I see him twice a week.

Liine of the night goes to a little kid sitting in the VIP section. Rahim Ali, who screamed at the kid something to the effect of the following:" I will beat you so hard you won't reach 9 yrs old.

The kid replied "I don't care".

Nihilistic and hilarious!

The best part of the night was the microphone cutting out.  Was most obvious when MVP and Lonely At The Top were in the ring.  They couldn't cut a promo at all despite being in the ring about 5 minutes or so.  Got to the point that MVP dropped an elbow on the microphone, Chaz dropped a knee and Jay Rukn jumped off the top rope onto it.

I think the only time that microphone actually worked when they were in there was when MVP broke kayfabe and called Chaz by some other name.

That's exactly what I think.  The only person you can count on to prioritize your federation in the event of a scheduling conflict is, of course, yourself.  But, there are also others who don't agree.

If you want to 100% guarantee your champion will appear at each and every one of your own shows, the only way to do so is to make yourself the champ.  You can't force anyone else to show up but yourself in this business, even if you've paid others in advance and made arrangements.

FYI - CSE also has the Regional Championship which is held by Deeno and has never been held by Max Alexander

I bet all the fans who aren't quite as "smart" and have no idea the guy who owns the promotion is also champion probably enjoy the shows a lot more than you guys who are complaining do.

I love the shows...its just the turnout was poor which dampended the mood. Would love to hear/see more promos but the technical difficulties just a keep on coming every show.

MVP is our local most valuable player when it comes to entertainment.

Hell yeah, turnout was the shitz.  but one thing, though... not sure how much advertising was done in Rockland for this show.  Usually there is at least a poster on the bulletin board for the venue on the way in... there wasn't even anything there this time around.  Maybe a lot of locals had no idea there was a show on?

There are still some changes that need to be made in order to get some people interested in the show.  Again, no theme music for the show itself.  Just everything quiets down and the announcer gets into the ring - a very quiet beginning to the show - and announcer with no energy... saps everything out of you before the show even starts.  We need to get revved up and there is nothing for that. 

In addition, the end of the show... well... it just happens.  Last match, music is done, no announcer to say when the next show will be, no thank you for attending... nothing.  Just, again... quiet and uneventful. 

The whole announcer thing really needs to get organized and I think it will add tons to the show.  Just not sure what is going on here, but I think CSE is really missing the boat on this.  There is alot of potential with that roster.

I personally put up a ton of posters in Rockland. Of the places that I was given permission to put up a poster that I noticed was removed either days before the show or the day of (depending on when I was at said location) includes (but is not limited to), the Knights of Columbus (in the spot you mentioned), Independent Grocer, Modelo and Rockland's Pizza. Why they removed them (especially considering one is a sponsor and the other is the venue), I have no idea!



I told the music people before the show to  fade out the music of the wrestlers (so that improved) but I also said to play at least some kind of generic rock music to start the show.  I will at this time assume they didn't hear me or just forgot.

Agreed. He was green and we neglected to tell him to say something at the end. I had thought he just forgot to say it was the main event (sort of funny to see everyone waiting for something to happen afterwards). I'll take the blame on this one.

Definately something Pat and I need to address over the summer. Good announcers are hard to find...

Yup, podding the music up and podding it down instead of jump cuts/stopping cold wouldhelp the entrances feel like entrances. Maybe instead of Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams, a little more modern music to rile up the crowd? Posters ALWAYS get torn down...too bad there wasn't some way to advertise on the university radio stations or internet radio stations for as little as possible.

Like I said, Pierre, I think it will add tons to the show.

It absolutely blows that posters were removed before the event even took place, especially in hte places where you had permission to do so.  Believe it or not, when it comes to Friday night shows (probably moreso for casual locals than the diehard regulars), that last-minute reminder is very important.  "Oh shit.. that show is tonight!".  

CSE needs to get a theme song for themselves.  Music is played everywhere for the fans pre-show, but, as examples, in C*4, you know when Tony is about to come out... in CPW and PCW, you knew when The Voice was going to come out and, thus, you had somethig to show you when the show was about to start.  You never want to have the place quiet at all.

Like I said - you guys have a lot of good talent on the show and the potential is definitely there.  Although many people might not put a lot of emphasis on the announcer and music and stuff like this, I think it's a very important piece of the puzzle.

I agree with DH. Excellent ideas and if you or "Max" ever are able to film your shows for DVD release, it would look and sound very professional/good production values. Maybe an announcer who is also a fan or who has announced other local sports shows before?

Also, I hope you can figure a way to bring back Cheeky as the Hunks can be hilarious.

if you guys ever need an announcer I am available I'm not the best but I'm sure I'm better then some..

He was never the announcer for CPW... That was always Le Voice.
